Watershed Mahotsav:

Watershed Mahotsav is a Nationwide Campaign by Department of Land Resources (DoLR) Government of India. This campaign was formally launched by Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Hon’ble Minister of Rural Development, Farmers & Welfare, Government of India, on 11th November 2025 at Guntur, Andhra Pradesh.

Objectives:

Watershed Mahotsav aims to foster active community participation, strengthen local stewardship of natural resources and ensure long-term sustainability of watershed assets. Through activities such as Bhumi Pujan of new works, Lokarpan of completed works, launch of Mission Watershed Punarutthan, Shramdaan, Plantation drives and Janbhagidari initiatives, the campaign encourages citizens to become partners in conserving land and water resources for future generations.
